Category: Monday Mercies

“Monday Mercies” are devotional readings that were originally offered as practical applications of a point or idea the pastor preached on Sabbath mornings. Just as God’s word applies to every moment of life, the reference to “Monday” is a way of pointing to the rest of the week, namely, the six days besides the Lord’s Day. These “Monday Mercies” are prayerfully offered as a means by which the people of God might know their Savior more intimately, think His thoughts after Him, and walk with him every day.

What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Mark 10:9 The Lord Jesus makes this statement as an answer to some Pharisees who had tested him with a sensitive and volatile question. They asked whether it was lawful for a man to divorce his wife. Jesus takes his hearers to the intention and […]

Taking a child, He set him before them, and taking him in His arms, He said to them, “Whoever receives one child like this in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me does not receive Me, but Him who sent Me. Mark 9:36-37 The opening words of this passage follow a pattern that emphasizes […]

And one of the crowd answered Him, “Teacher, I brought You my son, possessed with a spirit which makes him mute; and whenever it seizes him, it slams him to the ground and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth and stiffens out. I told Your disciples to cast it out, and they […]
