Category: Monday Mercies

“Monday Mercies” are devotional readings that were originally offered as practical applications of a point or idea the pastor preached on Sabbath mornings. Just as God’s word applies to every moment of life, the reference to “Monday” is a way of pointing to the rest of the week, namely, the six days besides the Lord’s Day. These “Monday Mercies” are prayerfully offered as a means by which the people of God might know their Savior more intimately, think His thoughts after Him, and walk with him every day.

Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart? Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember, when I broke the five loaves […]

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. (John 19:34) Would you walk with me for a moment? It is just a short walk today, but it is a walk I desperately need. Maybe it will help you, too. Do you remember how the Bible […]

June 22, 2020 – Light In The Darkness

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. (John 1:5) Will you walk with me for a moment? When does a light shine brightest? Is it not when its surroundings are darkest? The darker the darkness becomes, the brighter the smallest light appears. We can think of several illustrations of […]
